If there is no motorized vessel and we're just wade fishing can someone be compensated? I'm just looking for a good wading spot.
What if we're in my boat and I pay someone? Didn't realize all this would come up...now I'm really curious.

It's amazing how many try to or think of ways how to get around the regulations on what is required.

Lets go fishing that Saturday or Sunday 08/01===08/02 I know some good wade fishing spots as well as some drifting areas too. I launch out of Bastrop Marina, but could make the drive down to the pass, Where are you staying? The last time I was down there, February, the boat ramp was still torn up from IKE. I have a 19.5 C/C Bluewave tunnel and know the area pretty well. Best spot for vacation and fishing is the Yellow Houses right there on cold pass, we stay there in the winter duck hunting in the morning and fishing the rest of the time.
OH AND IF YOU WANT HELP OUT ON THE GAS AND BAIT. WE ALWAYS SPLIT IT UP ANYYWAYS

He could just make a bet with someone. $100 saying that someone couldn't put him on those 5 decent fish he wants. After all, he wouldn't be paying them "as a guide per say" rather he lost the bet  actualy this would be called gambling and is illegal too....... lmao I say let the man do as he wishes, I hope someone takes you up on your offer, its a free country.

Hey guys, I appreciate the pm's and feedback. Thanks for the offers Creed and Lexus Tech. I'm just looking for a spot somewhere in the SLP area where I have a good shot at some decent wade fishing. I have two boys and I want to put them on some fish. I know once they hook up with a nice speck or red they'll get hooked. They are 12 and 15 and that's about the age when I got hooked and I haven't stopped since. Get them to want to put the video controller down and put a rod in their hands would be great. This isn't about being too cheap to hire a guide or to break any laws. I'd hire a guide, but with not knowing weather conditions this far in advance and I the fact my last two bookings didn't turn out too well I'm a bit hesitant at this time. Anyway, just looking for helpful direction and thought I'd offer something for your time.

One on one betting is not illegal. Gambling is illegal when the house takes a cut.
I would say if he got put on some fish then he could just "reward" the guy with a tip.
Who's gonna know anyway? Just my 2 cents.
Once in a while everyone should have a little saltwater therapy.

Im heading down to San Luis Pass early in the morning to do some wade fishing. I've never fished the area before so hopefully i'll get lucky. I have been to galveston several times over the past three months and havent caught anything other than hard head and croaker. does anyone have any advice?

its good, only got to spend about 2 months there before i deployed, but its nice! I go back around December or January ,cant wait to finaly spend some time there and do some fishing!
