+1 for RedRanger That's probably the reason we don't have 20+ lb bass in Texas.
The summers are too hot, and the winters are cold.
Cali and Japan have a more more tolerate water temps year around....
Another thing they have common is "Earthqrakes" nothing like a 6+ on the sphincter scale to shake the lake.......

your Damn right Dan!! this guy earned it!!! some of you guys are Freaking retarded!!!!!!!! As much as i hate to admit this, the Japanese are so much more advanced in the fishing industry that the USA. Whats amzing to me is that you guys are so quick to discredit someone just because cause there not from the US. Japan has been making almost 80% of your gear since you began fishing. Daiwa, Shimano, Megabass, Evergreen, Deps, Norise, Palms, Diako, Gan Craft, Major Craft, Damiki, Lucky Craft, Jackall, Yozuri, Roboworm, Ima, Yamamoto. Thats just to name a few, im sure some of you guys have never even heard of some of these but Japan has been in the fishing industry just as long as we have.

Uh....Roboworm is from Cali. But yeah, they're light years ahead as far as equipment goes and bass fishing is huge in their culture. This wasn't a fluke.

In some fantasy land where we could drain a huge lake to see all that is in it....I'd bet money that Amistad or Falcon have world records in them.

It occurs to me that Cali and Japan might have more temperate climates that the big T. I bet their surface temps don't range from the 30's to 100+ in a year. Just a thought. Cali and Japan have a more more tolerate water temps year around.... temps are more tolerant in lakes like clear lake, but i have seen winters there whre it has a surface temp of 40degrees farenhite, and summers where it was in the high 80s, not as drastic, but still quite a difference

well, i will say this again. there is a spot here in texas (a smaller lake) that is stocked with trout every year. now i would almost bet the farm that there is a state record, if not a world record, bass in this little lake. my goal is to catch a lake record which was broken twice in the last few years.....

Okinawa Japan (The Rock) is Tropical like Hawaii but does not have a lake big enough. Been to both Via USMC.

He moved here from Japan. Chased his dream of fishing and did well. We aren't talking about a "hodge-podge", just not far from his homeland.
