Use Stabil(green color)/ It really does help but a water seperator would be your best prevention. Now all I have to do is figure out where to install one for my boat. I think I need to change the plugs again though.

I have been trying to go to FOrk every few weeks just to get the eth free gas, and of course to fish.

The Texaco in Cresson on Hwy 377 just past 171 is selling non-ethanol gas. There is a note on all the pumps to that effect. I talked to the folks inside and they have been getting it for about 3 months now.

There was an article in May's issue of "Bass Times" titled "Preventing Engine Failure" on page 10 that talks about gas additives, ethanol, MSDS sheets, fuel treatment options & winterizing. If you have this issue be sure to read it.

The mechanic I use said never to mix the ethanol gas with the 100% gas as it will create a mess of gunk in your engine. He said whatever you use continue to use the same thing and do not mix the two.

What's the difference between ring free & stabil? Do use both?
Stabil Ethanol (Blue) formula is to keep the Ethanol in the gas from doing Phase Separation when your boat sits between uses.
When the Ethanol separates from the gas it blends with what ever water is in the bottom of your tank and can cause detonation in the engine/ blown powerhead.
Best to get a Yamaha 10 Micron Water Separating Filter installed to keep water out of your fuel system/ injectors or carbs.
Bazz  Ditto. This is what I put in mine.
