I may very well hook up with Boston Bob for education. Can't go wrong there! I second that I bet he has TNT Slabs some Flies by night Flies and if you ask real nice he will let you fish with his Pink slabs! I will agree Bob can put you on fish on both lakes! Tex

Bobcat1, Congrats on the new boat! Got Pix? Go on out and get it stinky!
There are a lot of good tackle makers right here on TFF. I make the Tag-A-Long dropper flies. They work great fished above a slab, in a hell-pet rig, or as a fly. Sharpest, hooks, best construction and they catch fish. The construction even helps decrease "cut-offs" when you get doubles on. Sorry 'bout the blatant ad, but I really am proud of my product.
Take a trip with Don the Angler or Boston Bob. You'll learn a lot and save the wear and tear on the new ride.
He leadeth me beside still waters.

That boat is far too clean!! Go get it covered in scales & fish blood QUICK, before the bad juju sets in!
(bad juju is something like gremlins, but unlike gremlins, you NEVER want to feed them, even before midnight ...)

Our walmart in Carthage tx sells two sizes of the long hammered chrome spoons. can remember the size but i think the large one is a ounce or a little better. they cast like a bullet long distance and they are two to package and any walmart sells em. i caught two nice 10# hybrids with them casting the tailrace discharge at Sam Ryburn last weekend. those 7/8 oz white or chart. Bomber slabs at walmart work great but you might to use one larger treble size on them. Bass pro shops sells those bomber slabs in the 1 1/4oz size and the cheapest in the book. my tackle box consists of these two types in various colors and weights cause you can do anything with em. also try connecting two 7/8oz bomber slabs together like a white in front and a green in back and watch the extra action you get as well as extra weight for long distance casting to those surface feeding schools that don;t like to be spooked. reply to me and tell me how you do. our brand of fishing is the best!

Get in 20 to 30 feet of water off of a point. cast those slabs parallel to the shoreline to stay in you target depht you see shad and/or stripers at. let it sink to bottom the pick it up and jig it back. maybe get in 45 feet of water and do the same execpt guess when your lure hits the suspended fish target depht (20-35?) and jig it back. personally i would have a cast net and a 20 to 30 gallon shad tank. put 1 rod to you left and one rod to your right in the front of boat with circle hooked in nose shad at 2 different dephs and use trolling motor on low with 2 oz of wieght to slow troll those shad along those same place above. the shad are free my friend and alot of times they hit anythingelse. get it all damn you!

I will definately buy some of those fiesta spoons and sss spoon from Moe's. I'll add them to my arsenal and execute a flanking manueuver on the surface school.

ive used them for 20 years on Lewisville the only other bait i will use is slabs.
i have a box loaded with the plastics and the jig heads just for these months we are in.
