I was out this afternoon with my son. He just finished serving 5 years in the Navy so we have lots of catching up to do on the fishing end. I have been busy and not able to take him much since he got in. Well today of all days he and I are unloading the boat and a 3 guys pull up from KY and we pull off not thinking anything else but lets go catch some fish. The next thing I know here he is looking at me and then pulls right in on us withing casting distance. I was P##### ! I had to fight this guy off the spot I wanted to fish more than just fish. Need less to say we did not do well cause I really did not want to give anything away more than I already have. As soon as I left he went right to the hole.Any other time I would have said something or meet him in the parking lot. I just wonder if anyone else has this happen to them ? It seems to happen to me alot.Rude people wanting Freebies really are not right !

That just ain't right....typical of some folks though.

Maybe you and your son can plan a night trip soon. Hard to follow you if they can't see you!!! hmmm

Was it advertised on your truck or boat that you were a guide?

I have an old boat and suck at fishing.. noone is going to follow me and if they do, they won't have a very good day fishing lol...

We were going to fish from 7-12 midnight. He followed us around 7 pm and stuck to us like a bug on the windshield ! The boat I was in was not marked but my Truck was.

Usually if I'm following a boat, there's a tow rope involved.

I would think that comes with the territory of being a guide.. We all look for information one way or another.. At least the guy could have watched you from a distance and checked it out after your left..I don't think the way he went about it was right, but the act of learning by watching your surroundings is not bad in my opinion.

I have never done this, but I have seen it ALOT...although I have had the embarrasing experience of apparently having the same "gameplan" as some guides out here...I leave a spot, they pull up,they leave a spot,I pull up,I go to fish a spot, they are there, they pull up on me,Im already there...Never intentional on my part, and Im sure not on thiers...who knows maybe I should become a guide!!lol....sorry to hear about that Marc,I promise you it wasnt me!

I can't believe you have not encountered the guy in the smaller red/white Ranger yet. He's followed or pulled up on and marked spots with more than a few Fork guides lately. He has no shame in his game and will get within 15ft or so of you when he punches in the coordinates.

Following people guide or no guide is not going to make you a better fisherman. You need to be able to find the fish on your own and understand why the fish are there and when. Hole jumping or comming in on someone is just not right.

LOL if someone ever figures out who that guy is...I'm pretty sure there will be several people going to his house.

It is so strange, you hear about him from several people for 2 or 3 days straight...then nothing for weeks. Did you see him when you were out last Mark?

I don't know about that.. you can learn alot about why fish are on a particular hole and you can duplicate the pattern.

Last and only time I saw him was a few weeks ago when I was fishing with Tom R. and I have talked to a few guides here and there and they mentioned him as well. i also know he went back the next day and fished where he jacked the coordinates from. Even Chris Tilton says he got hit by him a couple of weeks ago on Hubbard. he's a local at least in the Dallas area I bet. He should have a killer set of coordinates by now.... rolfmao

Marc, you mean to tell me you have never watched another boat from a distance while you were fishing and see them catch some fish... and maybe later that day or another day.. go check it out to see what kind of structure they were on?
