Now that's a real Moby 'Gill! smile

I once heard a sunfish of that size described as a "t*tty bream." The idea behind the phrase is that the fish is so big you can't hold it with one hand while you remove the hook with he other--you have to pin the fish up against your, er, chest to do so.

For some reason looking at the fish makes want to go outside and throw a discus around.........That fish is a perfect circle.

Excellent Gill for sure! Congratulations! I also clap you on your photos, we had comparision scaling and can tell how big, round, thick, long that dang thing really is. Yes, a great candidate for mounting if I ever saw one.

Joe, was wondering if you were ever able to mount the fish or what happened to it? Fish of a lifetime...

I don't live for the thump, but I sure do like it.

Wow that's a pig of a sunfish!

I grew up in the midwest where there are some big bluegill/redear about, but I only saw one like that once. My uncle got one in his private pond that was also 11 1/2 inches, but I don't think it was quite that round.

Congrats on a great catch!
