Small water... at least 10-12+ deep... sure, there'll be at least one hog in there. Of course, in this heat/drought we're in the middle of, maybe all of those fish have fried up totally...
Toads for breakfast, lunch and dinner!

This fish my ex father and law caught was caught in mid July near the Tree stumps in middle of the river. It was caught at about 1 pm in 100 degree weather.

Lived on the river between Hunt and Mo-Ranch for about 8 years. Daily i would go out and destroy em on Tequila Sunrise culprit, Pumpkin Seed Salty craw and Rebel Pop-R. My PB was a 7.1 spot caught from there on the Pop-R. Great fishing and even greater catfishing.
Other times i would go up a few water crossings and wade the river all the way home using just a Roostertail and catch 50-70 perch and bass.
Just got all nostalgic, i miss those days.

THere is a place around kerville which I cannot remember the name of but in all the local things to do papers where people ride down a huge inclined cemeent slab, you can walk across the concrete at the top and catch bream but if you really want some fun action and to catch quadlupe bass(brown bass) go down to the bottom of the fall where the rapids are and throw a bettle spin with white or chartreuse color grub and you can catch them one after the other in the middle of a steaming hot day. Make sure you throw into the roughest part of the water you will lose a couple of lures on rocks but is worth it and beetle spinners do not cost that much for a package. THe place where I am talking about has store across the street that sells tubes so you can slide down the cememnt slab. Most likely somebody here on board knows where I am talking about.
