I bet your heart was racing when you got that big fish in the boat. I know I would have been shaking. Too bad it wasn't long enough but yet awesome on a top water. Did you find that the fish moved into deeper water due to the heat or still in the moderate depth range. Buried in cover? I'm going over to stay a few days soon as just curious.

when the fish ate the topwater, she came ALL the way out of the water. I saw a LONG fish and thought she was for sure an over. called for the net and she jumped two more times with just head shakes... partner who fished out there all the time thought she was gonna be over too.... basically two looks for the big ones... long, fairly thin- and then the big bellied fat porkers that arent that long. i was for sure she was gonna go over... oh well.... that fish was in 4' of water suspended over the end of a private boat ramp, next to a grass line.

Sorry to hear that Ronnie. At least you broke your PB...that's still cool.

Most of our slot fish came in deeper water w/ c-rigs. Our biggest was a little over 6lbs but we had several that size. We pulled up on a road bed with very green hydrilla on it in practice Friday and caught two 6's, a 5 and 4 in six casts. We left it and came back to start there Sat and caught some more slots and two that was close to under weighers. We grinded it out w/ split-shot flukes and rattlesnakes in the shallow grass lining the banks the rest of the day and caught more, just not the right size to weigh. On Sunday we caught several we could have weighed, but also realized it was taking very chunky unders to cash checks. We had one fish that was touching 16 and we thought it would cash as long as it wouldn't go over. Partner says "You split the money with me if it weighs, but I ain't paying for half the ticket if it's a slot". What a guy! j/k I took a chance and weighed it in at 16" and 2.50lbs and tied for 7th. That fish came out of shallow grass with a ss fluke. Stay in the grass and you'll catch fish.

Congrats to Troy and all the others who picked up checks.

It was our first Skeeter Owners tourney and we had a great time. We will definitely be back next year. Learned a lot, caught some fish, and met some really good people along the way including Okie Poke and basslikeme. Thanks for the advice, you guys are great.

Yeah we fished, I saw your boat Friday at Froggy-D's as we pasted by to go sign up..

Never weighed a fish-- that was a first. Kay did have tow-up/raw thumb syndrome Sunday from the big slot fish. LOL... That was fun to watch.
I hear, per(Jerry Shinn) we're supposed to call Lance, *Dairy Queen*--- you know, DQ... LMAOOO.. Sorry to hear that.
We'll get him a watch for Christmas.

Troy, we are very proud of what you've accomplished this year.
Ride the wave Brother, your on a tall one. Outstanding Job... cheers

Billy&Kay Dyson.
