Howdy Yall

Well I guess I did it again, I caught this 70-75lb blue last night, on 20lb test with a 5'' piece of shad. The Junior state record is 65.20lbs, and this beat it, but it wasn't official, seeing that I don't have a certified scale, yet...

It was caught and released

The release cheers

Hoped yall liked em!

Sam93,

Awesome! Keep in mind that you can have your scales certified after that catch. You have 30 days. If it passes certification you can apply for that record.

Thanks yall!

texasbuffaloadventures,

The only problem with that, is that my scale only goes up to 50lbs.. I got that weight by measurements I took, and a bit of guessing, which is why I said 70-75 smile I'm planing on buying one that goes up to 100lbs, and send it to the IGFA to get certified

Sam,

As you already know the IGFA only certifies scales up to 100 lbs which is probably why you want a 100 lb scale. I would recommend that you get a bigger scale and have someone else certify it. The IGFA does this merely as a service for their members but they recognize any certified scale. I got my 120 lb scale certified at Bastrop Scales. There is likely to be a scale certification place in your neck of the woods.

You never know what you might catch. Especially if you are targeting blues.

Sam, I'd be glad to hook you up with an Econoscale 100lb scale. Just came out and these scales are awesome. They come in 15, 25, 50 and now 100. There's a digital version as well in a 44lb size. Great product and accurate.

Nice cat by the way. A friend caught a 57lb yellow cat on LBJ a few weeks ago but was in the same boat and didn't have a scale big enough. He also didn't want to take the time to go find a certified scale somewhere. Oh well. You know you caught it though and have proof. Good job. ;-)
