Sick is the word for it, no lie.

If the statements the perps finally made are *true*, the little one was dead long before she was tossed into the lake, and the father intimidated the mother into covering his butt with an alibi. Did the father leave her in the bathtub and she drowned there? Or did he beat her and she died that way? Impossible to prove either without a body. So the best the authorities can do is get them both for "tampering with evidence" or "hampering an investigation."

Stuff like this really does make difficult one's belief in opposition to the death penalty. Makes no difference - I'm not a lawyer, and I'm not a judge. But I know eventually there is a Judge... a BIG Judge. And those folks will regret their lives if they don't seek redemption.

The little one... she's okay now. She's in a better place than in the care of those low-lifes.

I've never killed anyone, but I've read several obituaries with great enjoyment.

I saw on WFAA the divers are running into all kinds of obstacles. 2 had to cut themselves out of old trotlines (I guess) yesterday.

Does anyone know if they've tried using a sidefinder? I would contact them and volunteer my time if I had one but don't. Just curious.

Texas does not require that a body be recovered in order to prosecute for murder. We have special statute. It's harder to prove the case, but in this prarticular situation, the confessions and other statements regarding the murder made by them both will be plenty.

Personally, I just can't think of a punishment that would be adequate...maybe some of the old Apache methods.
