Im a roadie that spends most of the year traveling with Musicians. I just bought a used center consule and taking my family camping this weekend, It is a dream to catch a limit of striper but any advice on how and where on lake whitney will be much appreciated and so will my dinner...

the summer pattern will be on now, the dawn & dusk bite are usually the best times. Get a good map, try to fish the creek ledges, points, and flat area's around the park you're staying at. Live bait would be best, slabs my second choice.

I would agree with Hydra Sport stick to live bait and fish the creeks and flats, Use your FF and look for them. Anyways good luck and you should be able to catch them right now.

Fished Whitney Sat. Without any luck. Guides were south of the island by the point toward the cliffs.

If you can any way change destinations, go to Texoma. You will have much better luck catching stripers. Although, they have been doing real well on the sandies at Whitney. Im not sure what redfin is trying to say, but no, you dont need a downrigger unless your gonna troll. And you know what they say about trollers. I think he's saying to get a line in the water. He gave me the same pic when I asked for advice on redfishing. If you go to Texoma, let me know. Ill tell you what areas to try, they're no secret. Havent fished Whitney.

I want to catch stripers and check it off the bucket list. Looks like I have to be realllll nice to the mrs.... lol

Whitney is worth the trip, especially driving from where you are. Live bait will be tough to get on whitney but can be done. Slabs and jigs are working fine. One big hint is to make sure you get out there early! The morning bite has been great. EARLY EARLY!! Hydrasport gave good info and later in the morning/early afternoon the other spots mentioned around the islands will be good.
