Is fluorocarbon a pain or is it just me. Here's a little history I have been using VICIOUS in 8,12,and 20#. I have been using it on baiting and spinning. I am getting a lot of backlashes and wind knots this stuff has a lot of memory. I love braid but got concerned about the clear water I was fishing at Canyon Lake. I also do not like using leaders but that maybe what I have to do. HELP

Try Trilene 100% or Seaguar InvisX, they are the best fluoro's and handle well.

I was using KVD line conditioner. I guess I will try some different brands.

I spooled 5 rods with 3 different brands of flouro - I hated every one of 'em. I tried both brands of line conditioner on all 3 lines and just couldn't get any confidence in it. I went back to 15lb P-line and started catching fish again and having less problems!

I'm not gonna name the 3 brands so this doesn't turn into a knock-down, drag-out post. This is just my opinion.

Good luck in your trials,

-Alton

Try Trilene 100 % or Sunline FC Sniper or Shooter...I have heard bad reviews about Vicious, but have never actually used it so don't know first hand...

You bought the worst line made . Buy segar or xps and you will enjoy it 100 times more.

So with other brands no one is having issues using it on spinning reels.

They all have different variables, just like mono. I wish they had an industry standard for memory like they do on stretch, breaking strength, knot strength, etc. I have used a lot of different mono's and almost everyone of them say how limp and low memory their lines are. You can't go by what's printed on the box. I've had some lines that have little memory and nothing about memory was said on the pkg. and had line curlyer than a pigs tail and the pkg. bragged up how low the memory was. If I'm trying a new line I usually take about six feet out of the box. If it's curly on that big spool I'm definitly going to have problems on the smaller diameter spool on my reel that it's going to be wrapped around.

I'm sure there are guys who can use fluorocarbon on spinning reels but I'm not one. Try spooling the spinning reel up with 20 or 30lb power pro then attaching a 15' leader of fluoro using a uni to uni knot. Works for me thumb

As far as for casting reels, I like XPS and Pline Halo. But you gotta use some line conditioner on any of them.
