Both carrots I broke were 7ft 6'' hvy. They were not the gold series but rather the originals.I only paid $150.00 instead of over $200.00.I guess with such a low end price tag I should have expected failure....NOT!!!!!!How come you never see post bad mouthing Falcon,Loomis,St.Croix,Shimmano,Fenwick,Bass Pro..etc.,but this carrot stix topic keeps coming up?By the way I searched the web a found a ton of carrot stix complaints compared to the very few complaints on any other major rods.

wonder how they knew it was 87%. I have owned 2 of them for over a year and never had an issue at all. did break a rod a few months back. different brand but had stepped on it and about 15 fish after it broke on a small fish.
but sounds like if you buy one and it works great and does break and they will refund it or give you a new one then its not to bad of a deal. at least you dont pay $50 for them to send you a new one. LOL

I can vouch for SFAbassguy, we fished together last night and I watched him set the hook on 4 or 5 very large fish with the carrot stick with no problems. quotes Were you there when he set the hook on the stumps and rocks?? That makes for a better story!!

Just last night SFAbassguy lifted a fish that was well over 10lbs into the boat with his carrot stick. The fish flopped back out of the boat, he had to fight it again. He lifted it back into the boat again with rod only. I was going to help him and stepped on the rod and it bent double, I tripped and fell on it and bent it between the seat and the floor. As I was getting up it caught on my leg and and I slung it over board into the 70lb trol motor that was turning at full blast because I was laying on the button. The rod twisted around the prop. We gathered ourselves together and he finished fishing the rest of the night with the carrot. As we were leaving I noticed my big motor was not turning full RPM's. We stopped and checked, and sure enough the carrot was wrapped around the prop of the Merc. We unwound it and it was good as new. A few days ago SFAbassguy had lost his wedding ring in the lake. When we pulled the rod out of the prop his ring was hanging on the end of the rod. End of story.

no complaining here, just stating the facts. i don't mind promoting a good product but i think 87 percent return speaks for itself. Did this rod break as you were swinging a fish into the boat?
Did you high stick the blank (grab the rod in the middle) when landing the fish?
Some higher end rods are made with thinner blanks for better sensitivity and will break if high sticked... not blaming it on You... just asking?

LOL No. You cant say a products good because there warranty process is above par. If the same thing happend to a car ( same thing as 1 single continuing problem) a recall would be issued and folks would be yelling LEMON. The percentage is obviously wrong due to alot of variables. I dont believe 13 out of 15 will break, but they must be having a problem. Who would have thought a gimick rod made from carrot called a carrot painted orange wouldnt be the best. I mean Boyd Duckett said buy one!!

That makes for a better story!! He didn't hang a rock but he did hang the Denny Brower boat by all 10 power poles. Just imagine a boat taking off at full blast with a carrot stick hanging on to all 10 power poles, that sucker stood up on its hind end before the line broke. But carrot stick was still in good shape.
