I am heading out to Lake Livingston on Wednesday to search for some Alligator gar. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to go? We will be arriving in the night and I guess we are going to fish til sometime Thursday evening. I have heard of a Bethy Creek Resort on the trinity on the upper end of Livingston. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My buddies and I quit fishing there years ago so I will give you som hot spots.
If you launch at cove marina head to the bottleneck (trinity river inlet). You can fish the bottle neck and do quite well.
>>>
Turn left on the river and head up approx. 1/2 Mile to a slough on the right.
We have landed some big boys there.
You can also head down river and run into several more sloughs.
We always tried to fish on the top shelf of the "old" river bank.

Here is a video I made awhile back. It's kinda an advert for my old business, but it will give an idea of what to do. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XVp7IotX6C4I'll post some Gator Gar tips here in a little while. GG, are you trying to catch carp these day? I'm still trying. I don't get to fish much, but It's still on the top of my list.
