Maybe we just got on the lake too late but it was sure a slow day. I saw boat shows with 20 boats a couple of different places (I think Deadman's, the old lake cut, and two trees - but I'm not very familiar with the landmarks), but no one was catching anything. I caught a couple trolling with humdingers. My father-in-law caught one on Danny King's Punch bait. At that point we had given up the Sandies and were going for catfish.

Hit deadmans at 7 am and along with one other boat started a little boat show. We were catching fish but not to many of any size, so off we went on a hawg quest. Ended up back at deadmans for a few small one then called it a day. Morning fishing was slow but steady on slabs.

Yep...my son and I decided to fish Sunday morning instead of Saturday morning and I don't think God was pleased with that decision...few fish and little fish.

We got some perfect size gizzard shad for some hybrid fishing and even that was slow and add to that a comedy of errors = we left early and had a burger and shake smile smile ...always finish a father and son day strong!!!!

It was pretty slow on RayBob today too. The wife caught a couple on a yellow mice and I caught 3 or 4 with a white slab and yellow fly above it.

A buddy and I caught a nice hybrid and a couple of nice sandies at deadman's before 8am, but it was very slow this weekend. It seems that live bait has been working best the last couple of weeks.

Anybody been watching the water temps? My fish finder had it up over 80 today. Maybe it just a transitional period?

I did pretty good on sunday but did notice that the fish were in deeper water - out on the edges of the humps. When I was on a 20 foot hump the fish were in 24 - 32 feet of water. I had been catching them on the tops of the humps. I did try several of the usual spots and came up empty. Maybe as the water warms they are moving a bit deeper? or maybe I was just in the right place at the right time. Sometimes you just have to keep trying different spots and sometimes you just have a bad day.

Was out there too....morning bit seemed ok. But man.... had to be the biggest boat show i'd seen at deadmans. Looked like about 25 boats at that spot. Water temped at 78 - 80 at different spots

I was out just having a good time drinking some cold ones on saturday when the wife says "lets fish". So I netted bait at 6:30 pm in the 121 cut and went out to 20 feet and put three poles down. 5 minutes later we had two husky hybrids on.For the next 45 minutes we would catch one when they swam through.Ended up with 11 nice ones, the largets at 5.5 lbs. These babies can pull a truck out of mud!!!!!!!!!! Why get up early when you can sleep in and get them?

I keep hearing that the evening has been the best time for hybrids lately. Gonna have to sleep in next weekend!

It is pretty bad in the 121 cut as the party boys are coming back in from the Party Cove. Lots of ski boats with booming towers but the fish don't seem to mind. I stay off to the sides, I wouldn't get in the boat lane as some of those cruisers just don't give a [censored] about waking the beejesus out of you. The no wake buoys are back up but alot of folks just don't care....can't wait until the sherrif is out there writing tickets. But the fishing sure is good...and I wouldn't be out there after sundown....too dangerous.
