I don't know, but if not, is there any other place around there for catfish that is easily accessible? I am from Austin, but will be there this weekend, it would be nice to find a place to fish from the bank.

The release was 0 a few days ago, but now it looks like they've really opened it up...

Here's a handy website:

I know it is nitpicking, but........

The water is not even close to the spillway.

The spillway is closed to the public.

The *gates* are open and they will b e releasing water if they are not already.

More importantly...anyone know if the construction is finished? Last I heard, half the area was closed off due to construction.

I used to fish there at least once a month, and for a while, during the TXFishes Roadrunner contest, I was going there at least once a weekend!

Haven't been out there in a long time though, got fed up with all the folks keeping undersized fish, keeping more then their limit, and leaving their trash constantly littering the banks. Used to be nearly pristine, but it got pretty disgusting the last time they left the release gates open for a long period of time.

Couple of us from TFF and TXFishes went out there and cleaned the place up, but it was pretty bad again just a few weeks later. Sad.

Hopefully, the additional cost and the checking of fishing licenses at the gate has now cut down on the amount of folks who don't care about size and bag limits or litter laws.

And now, coming down from my soapbox hehe
