It look kind of stupid but I used a mini mag light strapped to the bill of my hat for a head lamp. It sticks out about 4 inches over the bill so its closer to my hands when i am needing to see up close and it also keep the bugs just a little farther away from your face. Q-beam for running and a regualr magligth for searching for stuff like snakes in the boat. I really want to run some rope lights but have not gotten around to it.

I use a strobe light... Talk about drawing the fish in..

Pontoon boat, I installed Fog lights just above the water level looking down. Two on each side of the boat with a switch on each side. They run off my two trolling motor batteries. Work great and last all night, they keep the bugs down at water level and are very easy to use. They are mounted where you can't see them.
Trust your own instinct. Your mistakes might as well be your own, instead of someone elses.
