Okay I finally did it and man it is sure nice. Here are the pics of the installation First, I measured and remeasure and measured some more and then did it again. Found the cross stringer and measured back from that. Took a few snapshots with the camera in hull and then with the tape in the hull. First laid out the template and then measured again. Taped the edges down and then took a sharpy and followed the inside line. Picture of just the marked line now. Took a razor knife and cut the carpet out and then came the hard part. Drilled the first hole. After that, piece of cake four more holes. Got after it with a jig saw and bam. Big'ol hole now. If you are attempting to do this one piece of advice. If you cut out the template just perfect. There are 3 ways to cut and everyone knows this. 1. You cut the inside line, 2. you cut the line, or 3. you cut the outside line. Cut the outside line. I was a little nervous, so I cut on the line and it took me 45 minutes longer than normal because I had to shave some off. Tested the tray to see if it fit: PERFECT Here is the final Install The project took me (myself) about 2.5 hours. I was real careful and cautious because doing this by myself. The extra time was having to shave that extra 1/8 inch off because I cut on the line. Do not force the Jig Saw, let it cut. If you force it the blade will cut at an angle on the bottom and you will have to come back and shave the bottom. No big deal, just a hassle. If you have questions, will be glad to answer them.

10-4 on that shaving--I did the same and it was the worse part.. what kind of blades did you use. I went through about six, then I got some for cutting tile (DeWalt-down cutting laminate) , they cut on the down stroke, and it worked better for me.. really nice job you did..

Just saw this so, sorry for the late reply.
2002 ZX250
Don't know what blade I used, just one that I had. I have ready that a sawsall works well too.
One last note: In th top picture you see the pedistal hole? that is reinforced with wood. So I went to home depot and got some marine epoxy for $5 and put it on the wood to protect it from potential elements (WATER). The instructions state that anyway and it is a small price to pay.
PM me or give me a call if you have any questions. My number is below.
