Hey everyone, been surfing the forums for a while and finally am posting. Glad to say I have a great first post. Was bank beating the vine yesterday and caught 23. Even mix of hybrids and largemouth, the largest being 2.8. I have pics from my phone so if they are decent enough i will post some. Tight lines everybody!

Thats the work man i feel you. I had the same sort of thing happen on saturday. Birds started working so i head over. I was the first boat to get there and another boat is short behind me. We both turn off our motors and use our trolling motord to get close. We catch fish for a bit and some jerk sees our success and figures he needs to get in on it. He flys into the schooling fish and shuts it down. The other boat and I look at eachother and shake our heads. He leaves and after 5 min bc he saw another group of birds working. The fish started up again and we started catching fish and sure enough the same guy came back. This time he decided to drive in between our boats to so much that i couldnt cast. He was changing lures every minute. I did not see him catch one fish. Our boats were pulling in fish every other cast. IT was sweet Karma...

I hear you and feel your frustration...it has happened to me a few times out there and I always let them know about it when it happens. Some people just don't get it!!

Would like to see pics of the "hybrids" from Grapevine. My guess is they were big sandies as I haven't seen a true hybrid caught out of there in many years.

I've done well in both coves and points recently for LMB, but have had better results with sandbass at the points on the open lake. I read somewhere on the forum earlier today that schools of sandbass were in Twin Coves. It can happen anywhere at anytime.

They call it fishing, not catching for a reason..

Today was WINDY. Crazy 30+ mph gusts, 5 foot crashing waves, backlash after backlash, but still worth it.

Final tally: 19 sandbass, 5 lmb (largest was a little over 2 lb), 4 smallmouth buffalo (11 lb was biggest, and when I set the hook it jumped out of the water 3-4 times like a dolphin). Smallest one was caught when I snagged someone's castnet about 5 ft from the bank and it had the buffalo in it.

I have to say that the bank of the cove I like to fish in is DISGUSTING. There have been a group of guys fishing around there every time I'm out and they leave dead shad, dead fish, beer bottles, and tons of other garbage. Great way to attract rats and snakes. I'm sure the cast net was theirs too.
