I think your right, live bait may be the trick, BUT YES, the bigguns are starting to show up. I heard Gold Fish are good for bass to.

throw a white spinner bait or a chartruese crankbait. Run them on the ground! You will get bit.

why dont you try fishing the main lake ? they arent so spooked there ,fish southshor stArting by the ramp and going towards w/chap and also fish behind the rec ctr. work the curb just west of it (that water has some good depth )when you cast out count the seconds it takes for your worm to hit bottom and you will see what i mean . those creek bass are super tough to catch unless you got them trained like rudy does

well fella's i just got back from Bachman, dident fish the main lake just the far back creek in the deep pools i went way back there and found a really deep pool that was hell trying to get there, but when i got there oh BOY!!!
Seen bass up to 7+ lbs cought a few smaller ones, 2' & 3 lbers
hook'd one but i was high on a little ridge and when i tryed pulling him up the line snaped :-( any way
fishing wasent easy i droped baits right on the nose of the fish and thay wound just sit there and look at the bait.
but i had fun, next time ill take jesse's advice and fish the main lake,
might hit it in the Morning? Hehehehehehehehe....

Hey BigTime, if those bass are locked on a bed and looking at your bait, that means its pissin it off and they are catchable (have to sit there and keep at it, barely move it). If they arnt on a bed, it can be difficult to catch a cruiser.

I have fished that creek for the past couple of years and the bass in that little pool "cliff area" are super-spooked. Everybody and their dog gets down in that creek and makes a huge ruckus. I was fly fishing an area a little down stream one day and this family just shows up right where I am and they let their kiddos start getting in the water and throw rocks around. I was madder than hell and I asked the guy if he saw me fishing there. He just ignored me like I was a nobody! I have had only luck with flies consistently catching the bass in that creek. I think that they are not accustomed to the stuff I use and they just attack it. The biggest bass I have caught there has been in the 5-7 pound range. I see people there all the time using live bait and they get pissed when they see me pulling out a blue gill every third to fourth cast. I have had 100 plus fish days there! I catch and release and have probably fed many a person who have asked for my catches. I gladly turn over fish to people who ask as long as the fish meets legal size and limits! When I take my spinning gear down there I have tremendous success with pearl white Zoom grubs and Mepps Aglia spinners in size 0 thru 3. Those bass like Kastmaster spoons in the 1/8 to 1/4 size as well. If all else fails i like to throw crappie jigs and jig heads with jig head tubes (all colors seem to work well). Good luck and tight lines!

You got it! Unpainted jig heads seem to work best. About the heaviest I use is 1/8.
