ok I have looked through the this thread and still have not seen where 1378 is. I just want to see where it is located, I dont like taking peoples honey holes from them. I just like to know where everyone is fishing and see what they are fishing with.

So if anyone would kindly help me out I would love to know where 1378 is located.

This might help:

TFF'ers hotspots

Collin County TPWD stocking info

Dallas County TPWD stocking info

1378 is on the map of 'TFFers hotspots, and it's the northernmost tack on the map... it's just south of McKinney. I'm just going to go ahead & give full out directions right here too just to keep KnotatWork from having to write 100 PMs... wink

The easiest way to get there from the metroplex is to take 75 north to the 121 exit. It's the exit with the hospital, so just follow the blue 'H' signs. Go on down past the hospital and stay to your right. There's a fork in the road with a pretty sharp right hand curve, so slow it down. That'll put you on the many-named Hwy5/Greenville/Ave K. Follow Hwy 5 south for about 1/2 mile...past the closed down gas staion... to the junction with 1378. Turn left on 1378 & head east. About 1000 feet down 1378 you'll cross some RR tracks... about that same distance later, you'll reach the dip in the road, and make a left turn on Serenity Ct. By this time you'll see the pond, park anywhere and catch you some fish.

LB HOuston is up, but not nearly what it was back in May.

The SW corner of LBH seems to be the place for Crappie. I say some feller out there drill a dozen keepers in 2 hours.

Hey Knot - I take it that this LB Houston (Cali Crossing) is not the one they are searching for the missing boater?

How did you do there yesterday? Where did you fish from?

Hmmm, I was down there the other day, and I saw the same carp from a few months ago that was had by a bobcat. I assure you LBH is very deep in many places.

Where were you at? What portion of the place were you on?

No thats at Loop 12 and Northwest Hwy. LBH is about 2-3 miles west of there, off of Luna Rd andf California Crossing.

Just finished at 1378; caught a nice one about 3 lbs off a LFT magic shad. Water sure is a lot higher than I've seen it.

Btw... Watch out for the attack geese.

Farmer's Branch historical park has a canal that runs along the east side of city hall south of valley view and ends in a pond. I've pulled fish up to 3 pounds and haven't been skunked in three short trips. The fish have all been very bright green great looking fish and have hit on 1/4 oz black and blue jigs with a strike king chunk trailer and watermelon candy zoom flukes. That's all I've thrown so far. Super easy access since its in the park and even a paved walk if I have to hit it at lunch in a suit and dress shoes. Here's a link. I'd be interested to know if anyone else has ever tried it.

I bet the path that follows it is lit so I'd say yes. The only question is whether you get buzzed by FBPD if the park "hours" are posted. Practice some light discipline and you'd be good to go.
