After that just ease into it slowly and it will help on those slippery rams when the wheels are not in the mud. Heck I bet that Rav would tow my boat easy also.

Glad folks came to help you. I have found in the two years I have been in TX that folks around here are nicer then anywhere else in this entire country.

Yes it does have uphill assist and the tow package... it has a TON of torque and has no problems at all.. We even towed the boat home from school a couple weeks ago (200 miles) in a huge rain storm with no problems.

When I put my car into drive I started to slip backwards into the water and i couldn't get any traction...I could hear my exhaust pipe blowing bubbles in the water. scared

By the grace of God, someone offered to pull my car with their truck. They chained my car up and as we both stepped on the gas, my car was going nowhere. Just then, 4 guys in another boat jumped off and swam to help us out...turns out my trailer had fallen off of the ramp, and due to the low water conditions had gotten caught in some mud. They pulled out my trailer, and after that, with a little tug from the truck...my car was above water again! clap

I just wanted to thank the people that were out there that day for helping us. It is so great to know that there are still some good folks sitll out there willing to lend a hand!

For future reference, when backing the trailer down the ramp, do not use reverse, use neutral. When in reverse the vehicle wants to pull itself down the ramp. When in Neutral, it's free wheeling and doesn't slip. I've had two buddies that have completely submerged their tow vehicles due to getting them too far down the ramp and sliding the rest of the way in on the moss. Also, another trick you can try is to have the boater put the boat in forward gear and attempt to push the trailer and tow vehicle up the ramp. It won't push it out, but it will stop it from sliding any further. Glad to see their are still some men out their who will come to the aid of a damsel in distress.

First, you will see that Hollie backed the trailer into the water... the sign as we backed up said "Warning, Low water" So as we backed it in the trailer went to far in and therefore got off the edge of the ramp into the mud... This caused the trailer to then sink some into the mud and get stuck... I was in the boat and I pushed off...

Then after the trailer was stuck we couldnt get it out... so a really nice guy got his truck and chained it up to Hollies SUV and then tried to pull it, but it wouldnt move because the trailer was stuck... so like 5 guys jumped out of their boat about 30 yards off the boat ramp and swam to help us... They lifted on the trailer and we all pulled and we were off.....

Here is an illustration of this second scene in case anyone is confused..

One of the entertaining things to do in Bryan is to go to the bar next to the ramp at lake Bryan and watch people attempt to launch and load their boats. The ramp is steep and challenging, so I can see how this incident could happen, especially considering how low the lake is now.

Glad some good Ags came to the rescue. I woulda if I'd have been there.

Glad to hear you two were around good people that day, majority of people are good people and will step up and help. Been there done that and I do not care how big the tow vehicle is but, at Calaveras Lake you have a dropoff at the end of the ramp and you are not pulling the trailer out with a freightliner without tearing your leaf springs off. I picked the trailer up from underwater while a guy scooted the truck up slow, glad he was there.

That picture of the nautique is almost as funny as the sketch(loved the sketch by the way, should have been a weatherman)...omggggg someone tell that aggie in the nautique you have to leave the truck in the parking lot.
