Actually that is another guy on the other side of the trailer... the boat actually wasnt even on the trailer, I drew that wrong... I had to drive the boat over and park it and then come back..

But good observation skills!!! thumb clap

Ok...the point of this story was to THANK THE PEOPLE THAT HELPED US. I, in no way, expected to be ridiculed for anything, and I certainly didn't expect myself or Chris to be badgered for not filling in all of the gaps in the story. I shouldn't have to go through this just to make a post.

I hope the pictures can help explain any other questions. Thanks Chris.

Why in this day and time where a simple "Thank You" can be so confusing or misunderstood? Seems like it has to be disected, weighed, pondered until figured out. Sometimes a Thank You is actually just a "Thank You". Let it go.

Give her (them) a break. I understand how scary that can be. Have fun and fish and I am glad someone could help you out.

Nothing as crazy or scary as Chris or Hollies' experience, but March 28th we fished the Wilson County Sheriff's Benefit Catfish tournament @ Calaveras Lake. There were a ton of boats at the ramp come wiegh in time. This poor fella was sittin at the dock when I beached our boat next to him. Poor fella looked like he was very upset. He asked if I could pull him back out into the cove and push him up to his trailer. I said sure but what's the problem? The gentleman had what looked to be a pretty new CC boat. He tells me the boats just dead in the water???? Said he swapped his batteries and just would not start. So I asked if he minded me lookin at his boat. He said sure but I have tried everything already. First thing I look at, kill switch is in proper place. Batteries are connected. The selector was NOT IN NUETRAL..... I put the selector in NUETRAL hit the key and the boat popped right off :-) That fella was speachless when I started his boat, patted him on the shoulder and said,"It happens to the best of us." and hopped out of his boat. I told him all I asked is he remember our old Skiff and if the day ever came he saw us stuck on the lake he didn't go blowin by on his way back to the dock :-)

Moral of the story is......... I ALWAYS will be the first to lend a helpin hand to ANYONE I see needing one. Because I have been the one stuck at the farthest point of the lake from the dock and NOBODY stopped to help. So I know firsthand what it feels like. Good to hear y'all found some good guys that bailed in to help with open arms. Now make sure you paint their faces, boat and tow vehicles in your head. Cause they day may come you can repay the favor on or off the water.

Rob

So goes it on the TFF these days Hollie, best thing you can do is utilize the ignore feature on the folks that make idiotic replies and you will never have to see their posts again! I have probably 20 people on ignore, it has made the TFF a much better place!

Glad some folks stepped up and helped you guys out. That happens a lot on Lake Worth when it gets a foot or two down its very easy to back right off the ramp. I have been there and done that, but the water was 75 degrees so getting in wasnt so bad. smile

The year before last when the lakes were low I was trying to launch at Harbor One Marina at EM when I ran out of ramp and my trailer tires went off the end of it. The ramp has a drop-off. The ramp was steep and wet and my truck just wouldn't move. I was in the same trouble you were in when some high school kids who were around offered to help. I backed the boat off of the trailer and tied it to the dock. They didn't have a truck but together we lifted the back end of the trailer up while my girlfriend hit the gas. I was surprised by their generosity because I remember seven years ago the jet ski I was operating that day died right in the middle of EM. I flagged a boat down and offered them some cash if they could tow me back to the ramp. The driver said "Sorry, we're heading to Party Cove. Good luck". They drove off as I was stranded out in the middle of the lake. Those were some sorry people. I flagged another boat down 20 minutes later and offered them the same thing. They towed me to shore and were happy to take my $20.00...

OMG ... That is awful..... I actually think it is against the law to pass anyone that is stranded... You easily could have turned them in.. and I definately would have!! That is just sickening.. No party or fish or anything is worth leaving anyone stranded!!!

We just traded our allwheeldrive Rav 4 in. That six has 269 horsepower and plenty of torque for his boat and is no problem at all for the job it is doing. Verify if you have uphill assist were you hold the break down and it will not roll back. After that just ease into it slowly and it will help on those slippery rams when the wheels are not in the mud. Heck I bet that Rav would tow my boat easy also.

Glad folks came to help you. I have found in the two years I have been in TX that folks around here are nicer then anywhere else in this entire country.
