It is impossible to overemphasize the importance of getting a lesson. The time and money spent learning proper technique will save you hours of frustration and eliminates the need to unlearn bad habits later. Fly casting is more technique and timing than bait casting or spin casting. It is an issue of when to apply power as opposed to how much power to apply.

If you think fly casting is addictive wait till you start tying your on flies.
