I am about tired of these dang thieves! I have been hit 4 times in the last year and half for hunting and fishing goods. Just Yesterday I got home from work and put my 2 NEW Trollong motor batteries on 2 different chargers. Covered the boat back up and went to work a second job, come home to a uncoverd boat and NO BATTERIES and NO CHARGERS. I have a Tournament Saturday and now I have an added expense that REALLY PISSES ME OFF!

Surveillance equipment for your home is getting cheaper and easy to install yourself.

You can hook this stuff up to your home computer and access it from your office computer or wireless laptop.

one if the neighbors, you know the one that doesnt have a job and sits on his porch waiting for you to bring home something for the outdoors so he can turn around and pawn it for more beer money. Or he just goes fishing with your stuff when your not there and forgets to bring it back.

You guys are right about having my number, I can promise you this the next number they get will be a . 45 cal. I thought it might be some nieghbors down the alley way. But everytime I call and make a report and give them names, nothing ever comes from it. Surveilence is next when I can Afford it. Today it is just somekind of locking door to rig up.

Especially considering that you are using a 'TARP', run to the nearest 'Walgreens' or other drug store and purchase a motion sensor alarm (has 4 key pads) actually purchase a couple of them (around $20 each). They use 4-AA batteries. You start by inputting your own code, after installing the batteries (then you screw the lid on). Hit the #4 to start the alarm(s) and then walk away. The batteries can last 9 months with the sensor on, and it can make a pretty ugly sound if you don't enter the code within the first 15 seconds after being sensed (you will receive 1 quick chirp when it senses you).

Also, renting a locked, secured shed near your favorite lake is nice. With the cost of gas so high, and the amount of gas used to tow a boat to the ramp, it can quickly pay for itself.

so a search for Car Alarms on Boats in the open freshwater section, bass fishing, or boats and motors section, and you will see a thread we had going a while back.

I installed a basic $99 car alarm on my old Stratos when I first bought it. I added toggle switches (GM door switches, about 7 bucks apiece) to each lid. Installed, horn under the console, backup battery and everything was less than $250 bucks.

If anyone opened up a single lid more than 1/4 of an inch, the alarm would go off. I woke up on morning at 2 am at the Twin Dikes Core of Engineering park to the sound of my boat alarm. In the time it took me so scramble out of bed, grab my .40 cal by the back door of the RV and get out of the trailer, there was a pickup tearing out of the park. The rigging box of the boat where the batteries were was standing wide open. It was well worth the investment. Thieves hate noise, especially alarms.

Get some help from someone that knows electronics and tickle them good the next time where as they touch it they get 120 volt shock to knock them on their ---.....

Sorry to hear it but I have to agree with some on this post. Someone is watching you or knows your schedule. More than likely, someone in the neighborhood. If there is a way to setup a video camera that is pointed toward the boat?
I caught a neighbor at a friends house dumping her dog **** over the fence that way.
