8 lb at fairfield today. Not too bad.

Used head on shrimp. Fisherman next to me was using live shads. Reds took my shrimp instead of his shad and I was right between the 7 poles he had out. Very strange, since shad should be thier main forage. He did catch alot of big LMB's though.

I think due to low lake levels that there is a ton of shad out there and they would rather see some different food...where are you fishing from? the point by the south ramp?

Camped out last night from 9:30pm to 9:30am (Slept from 11pm to 5:30am). Caught some reds, a bunch of laremouths and snagged a Talapia. Used fresh head-on shrimp and live shad. Caught alot of undersized reds with shad. Caught 6 keeper reds on shrimp. Lost a castnet in some rocks that ripped a big hole in it. Millionns and Millons of shad. Fishing was very slow today. Most of the bites started at 5:30am. Lots of gar popping the water.

Ran into B_vandy who pulled an all nighter. Nice meeting ya.

Video of me reeling in a morning red.

Took home a 20in Red, 18in LMB (parasite free), Talapia, 25.5in Red.

well the fishing this past weekend was good slow from the bank but we did well off my little 2 man we only managed 2 Reds off the bank 1 saturday and 1 sunday a nice 26in.. even after pulling an all nighter as Night Fisher said we shut down about 4 am all we had cught through out the night were Gar we must have caught 8 or so.. any ways the 2 reds we did manage from the bank 1 was caught over by the the ramp clostest to the fishing point this little 17 incher was caught on a single cast with a 3/4 oz rat-l-trap black/chrome while i was waiting for the guys to bring the knife to clean the ones we caught off the boat the next one was caught with in 10 mins of talking to TNF on sunday morning on a small live brim.. we fished the end of the point till about 3:30pm and called it a day with a 2 hour and 45 min drive ahead we had a good trip ended up with 20 reds most Avg. 17-22 inches but also had a 2 26inchers and a 28incher caught 18 of those from the boat... 1 on a 4 inch swim bait the next 17 came on rat-l-traps trolling them between the hot water out flow and the fishing point.. we tried everything we could manage from the Bank.. shad, brim, tlop, and shrimp but couldn't seem to get the bites off the point this time but here's a few pics from the weekend.. my buddy's 26 incher off the point Aaron's first red rat-l-trap still in mouth my 26 incher if you look real close you can see just the back hook sticking out of this guy he swolled that Trap even being trolled check out the spots on this guy my 26 and 28 inchers and thats all of them i'd like to Thank Don,jackie blue, and Vaughn for answeing my questions and helping me and my frineds catch a few red's..

In my opinion.....keep the crabs, crawfish, and shrimp and put them in a cajun boil...enjoy with a dark beer

Then bring your castnet to the lake to catch native bait...
