My vote is for Rayburn, maybe because that's the only lake I fish. I think most any lake you learn to fish is one of the best.

I remember the last time I had 15 Slabs on the stringer at T-bend.... those were the days. Nothing under 14" on the stringer. I've got to dig up those pics.

Whats up with Tawakoni, not a bad lake at all. Richland Chambers is good. My Uncle cleaned house on Granger last weekend, but he said they were thin. Of course close to home is the best and to me that is OH. There are some SLABS in that lake. I'm going to mount my next 3 lbr."I don't care what my wife says." fish

Texas Lakes this depends on what time of the year, to get a better assesment of a lakes output a person would have to fish it year round, due to fish pattern changes and lake turnover and lake levels due to drawdowns and flooding that does'nt answer the question I am only allowed to say that in texas there are lakes comparable to Millwood,Tunica cutoff,Darbonne Bayou,Lake Ufala, pardon the spelling but there are a few people on this forum and others who know and have proof.

Texas is just too big to have A best Crappie lake.

And what constitutes the "BEST" lake? The one that produces the most keeper fish or the one that produces the biggest average fish. It's different for each fisherman.

Usually a fisherman will vote for the lake closest to his home that he fishes most often. Because he knows the lake better he does better. Is this the lakes fault? No. It's also the anglers skill level that's sometimes the major factor.

My favorite North Texas Lake without question is Texoma. Lots of BIG fish and little pressure on them. Tawakoni also is a sleeper. East Texas I like Lake of the Pines. (I like big fish)

Of course Cedar Creek is the easiest lake around DFW to catch big crappie from.

I'm getting a headache trying to decide where to fish today, guess I'll go to Texoma.hmmm Bye. fish
