Hey guys.. so I had a TON of trouble for some reason posting this yesterday.. so I tried something different and I am hoping this one comes out better.. it is basically the same.. just the first post is there, and the pics are bigger.. Enjoy!

I recently bought a 14' Alumacraft and over Spring Break my dad and I worked on it alot..

The build was basically 3 main parts.. Front deck, middle flooring section, and rear deck..

So we started by cleaning the boat out..

Then came cutting out the middle flooring section which ws difficult as we had to account for the side slope and the ribs of the boat.

Then we moved to paint.. we used an oil based primer so it would reject water..

Then we moved to support for the middle flooring section..
We cut out aluminum supports (by hand ewww) and riveted them to the benches at the same height as the ribs so that the floor would sit flat with no flex..

We got little hook things riveted into the sides to hold the cooler down on the floor…

Then we started on the rear deck..

Here we built supports for the deck..

And here is the rear deck with the hole cut out..

The rear deck was never actually finished, but will be soon… But on each side there is going to be a door with a compartment…

And here the rear deck and all the supports being painted..

Next order of business was the support for the front deck.. since this is where I was going to stand, we wanted it to have a lot of support… so we got this heavy duty aluminum from my dads work which had a ¾” gap in it.. We got the ¾” plywood that we used for the deck itself and cut out a piece to slide into the aluminum..

Here is the carpeted door.. (test fitting)

And the front deck all carpeted..

Lastly we added some 90 degree aluminum braces to mount the deck to that support piece.. This gave it extra support!

Here is the fishfinder up front.. there is also a fishfinder on the floor that I will use while driving the boat..

Here is the last picture I got.. Here it is pretty much as far as it is now, but there are some small touches that I have added since.. And of course it is a little more cleaned up..

It was a GREAT week spent with my dad and I think the boat turned out GREAT!!

Anyone who is wanting to do a project like this, I highly recommend you start ASAP.. it is a blast to do, and you will thank yourself afterwards.. and pm me if you have any questions along the way.. now I cant wait to get out there and fish off of it!!

Thanks for looking!

Projects like that can really get you pumped, huh? Kind of stuff that keeps you up at night. You and your dad will never forget that boat. Go have some fun.
