There are a ton of Asian stores in Garland and Richardson. Off 75 you just go to Beltline and head east. At the second light there is an Asian shopping mall. THere is also one over off of Jupiter and Beltline I think, one off of Walnut and Jupiter, and if you are on Walnut between Jupiter and all the way down to Richland College there is about 5 large Asian Grocery stores. Good eating there too.

Hahaha they all understand and speak english. It might sound funny, but youll be ok. I recommend going to Hiep Thai on walnut/jupiter or Hong Kong Supermarket on Walnut/Audelia.

I would use live bait (small bluegill,shad,etc..) on a 2' leader with a 1oz. egg sinker. Use a 4/0 Kahle hook and hook the live bait fish through the lips (up through the bottom of the jaw out through the top)

Just use a # 2 Eagle claw. use what you would use for Striper and 5 lbs LMB's. Drums got pretty good sized mouths.

Thanks TNF. Hope I didn't sound racial or anything - certainly wasn't meaning to. Thanks for sharing your report as well. I've been hankering some redfish and FF is a lot closer than Port A.

Do the places you mentioned sell live blue crabs? Live crayfish?

Again, thanks!

H

My opnion... I think your going to catch more catfish than Red Fish with crabs & crayfish. I would use live baitfish.

LOL Oh no your all good man. The places I recommended are pretty big and they sell EVERYTHING. You are going to be amazed what kinda seafood they sell. Live Channel cats, Live Talapia, Live Turtles, Live Frogs, Live Bluecrabs, Live Crawfish, Live Clams, and more. Just go there and see what im talking about. Once you go inside the store just walk straight to the back at the seafood department (you may want to hold your nose).
I recommend puchasing about 2 lbs medium to large Head-On shrimp. Maybee try out a pound of blue crab and a crawfish. All that should cost you around $16. Put the Crabs and crawfish in a small cooler without any water and make sure you dont close the cooler tight, they need oxygen.

TNF - Thanks

HB or BNB - could I buy baitfish somewhere around Fairfield or would I need to catch them somehow?

I use a cast net. Not sure if there is a place near the lake that sells shiners or not

shad or sunfish are optimal baits...they eat crawfish but they are a pain to use for bait.

English speaking buying bait is OK and preferred, you need to buy bait using english, otherwise these Texas raised Reds won't know what is best to bite!
