A co-author and I (who are continually researching lines for project) have tested over 30 lines. The "best" that we've seen so far is the Seaguar Carbon Pro. Unfortunately, Carbon Pro is set to be discontinued within a couple of months due to the cost in making the line. Their (Seaguar aka Kureah Corp) sales of Carbon Pro went up by a full %20 last season...still it's simply too expensive to make.

I heard you`ve been hoarding it all. I really like the Carbon Pro, too, but it`s a little stiff in the winter.

...Naaah! Yer just using it wrong! JK! It does have a bit of memory...but if spooled correctly, you can manage MOST of it. Then again, the largest test (on bait casting) I use is 15 and that's for my pitching & swimbaits. On spinning gear the largest I go is 12 on a larger spool...I usually stick with 8lb for finesse and crankbaits. It serves me well.

Yeah, I heard you�ve pounded all but the Red Label trying to find your go-to line. I think you�ll like the new stuff�although I have not yet tested it. I did pick some up from �the man� to test it. I�m busy as heck right now but I�ll post the results when I get around to getting it �mic�d�.

I've been using InvisX for about 2 years ... I like it. I just bought some Berkley 100% and I think it may be more supple.

Just to clarify right now LFT does not yet have its true 100% fluoro out but there is the FluoroHybrid line which is a copolymer coated in fluoro. It has the same characteristics as fluoro and has been great for me so far. I am really imprssed by it and have been testing/using it the last 6-12 months. I will saya ton of it has been sold the last month or so and I am still waiting to hear the fist negative word about it. I just wanted to make sure I pointed out that its not pure fluor as of yet but that version is coming. Thanks

Just curious about the staying power of the flouro coating on copoly. How often would it be recommened to retie to keep the flouro coating at the knot strongest. And would you still use a flouro knot?

I've not had any issues with the coating breaking down. The LFT uses amulti-coating system and its pretty significant. The line itself would have to break down first I would think. It requires the same knot mainentance just as most lines do. Always wet the knot before cinching and retie often or at least check you line often. The LFT line is VERY abrasion resistant but again I would still check often. The San Diego Jam knot seems to be the best knot for the LFT line in terms of all around use. Ok I need a line that has not a hole alot of stretch nor memory, I just need the best line I can buy. Money is not an option. Any suggestions?

Mostly over the years I hear go with Seaguar but BPS and Vicious have decent reviews. I'd probably go with the cheapest of the three. I like trilene mono allot too because it's good, cheap & made in the USA. BG & XL are my favs when I can't afford fluorocarbon.

Seagaur tatsu is the best I've used! A little pricey considering two 200 yard spools run me over 100 bucks! Still id have to say its worth every penny

Whats the best flouro that isnt too expensive. Seems like everyone uses Seguar but thats out of my price range. I've been just using mono but I bought some berkley vanish to try for my crank bait rod. Seems alot of people on here says its junk though. I havent used it but a couple times. Bought some spiderwire ultracast because it was marked down from $20 to $7 but havent tried it yet. Sorry for the long post.

I love the double standard on forums. People want new people to search and topic not to be discussed over and over but then cry foul for no reason when people readdress previously covered topics in existing threads so as not to create new ones... did it occur that no one cares and instead they wanted to expand upon a previously opened topic? Imagine how awful search engines would be if none of us continued to expand upon anything or grow knowledge bases and instead made a new page or article or thread with ever thought or question we had to share.

Go look at yahoo questions and see how much worse than Wikipedia or a top google search is... then never comment again on a thread resurrection on a web forum lol
