Darn near brought a tear to my eye! lol U reminded me of a man that did the same thing for my family and I when I was young. I too am hispanic and was raised by a single mother when we went fishing and a good man gave us a few fish and tried to teach me what he was doin. Just brought back old memories. Thanks and hats off to you my friend!!

Don't feel bad you did the right thing. And if you teach a man how to fish... everyone knows the rest,
it should feel good..

i have done exactly the same thing while fishing a baited catfish hole and watching this family catch 10" cats as we were yanking in 3 - 7 pund cats. They were keeping the 10 inch fish as they needed food.... I gave them monst all of our catch.... It is american.... Feed america.....

If you never keep any bass at all, there would not be a need for a slot or limit and most, if not all the bass would be little. I dont keep them unless I'm in a tournament or if I catch big ones I want to put in my pond.

You did the right thing. I am the same way with LMB, they always go back in the lake. There is nothing wrong with one getting eaten.
I give away fish to the bank fisherman all the time. They are usually sandies or cats when I don't catch enough for a good fish fry. Nothing wrong with it at all.

There is nothing wrong with eating a few bass at anytime. Especially to take care of some people in need.

Don't feel bad, you did the right thing. My dad ditched us (mom & six kids) when I was about 11 yrs old, and I can remember several occasions, usually towards the end of the month, where we went to bed hungry. Besides the physical discomfort, there was also emotional wear & tear. It sucked then, and for that kid it sucks now. So rest easy, my friend, you did the right thing.

You should be proud of your actions.....nothing at all wrong with keeping fish in that size class. Can help more than hurt in most slot lakes.
Besides, when you are talking about hungry people, our sport seems suddenly less significant anyway.

You did a good thing. You should be proud of yourself. Honestly, even if it was a small slot I would of given them the fish. I know its wrong but I personally will choose the human race over a fish any day. If it was a 3-3.5 lber that I thought needed to go back for the good of fishing I would of tied on a senko and gone and caught them a couple of unders.

Absolutely the right thing to do. It may be hard for many of us to realize how bad things are for some people. Anyone who can trailer a 20 ft fiberglass boat and spend 35+ dollars in gas to fish ( lets not even get into tourney costs) may be a little "out of the loop" as far as financial hardships for others. And before I am bashed for picking on others. I have a 20+ and spend the gas money, etc. to fish. I am just saying that we don't always realize how things are for others. Myself included.
