Sorry to hear that, man it is tough. A good friend of mine has 6 of those little guys they are practically her kids. They certainly go to the doctor as much if not more than I do, but they still get old way too fast.

Sorry to hear about your family member passing on. I have had to put down several in my life time and it doesn't get any easier. I don't think I can do it again and will have to ask someone to. I think more of my dog than I do people. They are always loyal and never cheat on you. Just always think about the good times you had him.

Wife is a Vet Tech, been so for 16 years. She sees it every day and, although it is her job and she tries to be strong for the family/owners, it always gets her when she gets home. When we put down my boy "Wrangler" several years back, I cried like a baby. I was actually surprised how much it effected me, I cried every day for a month when I thought about him.

It's pretty cool, if you think about it, to have an animal mean so much to you. Definitely Man's Best Friend.

I'm feelin for ya.

Reading this post reminded me of having to put my 15yr old blue heeler down last year and it still hurts and I will never forget that day in the vets office. Time does heals all wounds, but can't come fast enough . Sorry for your loss .

A good dog is a member of the family. We got another Lab after our first one passed and it helps but I still miss the best dog I ever had. That was seven years back...time will help. I also am sorry for your loss.

Tuff to put down a pet, time will heal along with knowing he is not feeling any pain...

I'm so sorry for your loss. Over the years I've had to put down a number of Cats, and the best Dog that ever lived.

We lost Sonja almost thirty years ago -- and I still miss her.

It's a hard thing to do.

The last animal we had to put down was an old Siamese Cat named Julian. Grumpy, complaining -- like that old Uncle you loved -- but don't quite know why.

We saw him for months after he was gone. Turn your head quickly, and there he was - just a little glimpse of the old boy.

At least you will have fond memories of a loyal friend.

Dogs should live as long as we do. Very tough situation to handle.
