My lawn is full of clover, I sprayed it with some weed and feed last night (the kind you attach to your water hose) but then was told that it wouldn't kill it. What do I use to kill this stuff without killing all my grass?

If it's bermuda, scalp it in the first of Spring and then use a high nitrogen fertilizer...

Another thing I do is use a bagger so that the weed clippings don't continue to spread...

Whats better to use the spray on stuff or the granules? Or does it even matter? I usually buy the big ol' bags of the granules myself, more because I'm cheap and we have almost an acre at each house...So I don't know how well the spray on stuff works.

You have to get to them before they seed...All weeds are annuals...I had really bad clover and the dollar weeds at the lake house in one area of bermuda when we bought it...They were gone by last spring...

Also, I raise my lawn mower up one notch every month beginning in the spring so that the grass chokes out the weeds...Never, never scalp your yard in the fall/winter or you'll have a boat load of weeds carried in on the winds...

How do I know if they have seeded or not? Sorry, I'm a relative newbie at taking care of a subdivision lawn.

Like LoneStar mentioned throughout his posts.
1. Cut as low as possible right now through the first good rain we get.
2. After we begin to get rain on a continous basis, raise your mower each time you mow. If you have St. Augustine, you need to have it raised to the highest setting by the time 90+ heat gets here. Bermuda can be cut at the middle setting and do fine.
3. Fertilze right before our next rain and again in May. Fertilize and use pre-emergent in the fall and again in late Jan.
4. The only true way to get weeds out of your lawn for good is to pull them. If you wait until the day after a soaking rain, they come out easier. Always place them in a trash sack when you pull them. Never pull them and throw them in your yard and mow over them. This will spread the seed.
Good luck with clover. It took me three years to eradicate it from my lawn.

The flowers...If there's flowers, you've got weeds ready to spread...Just scalp it, with a bagging PUSH mower, the riding ones don't seem to go low enough...A good high nitrogen fertilizer and water...It is hard to get rid of, but if it's bermuda, you're a head of the game. Bermuda is VERY aggressive and stubborn, so give it what it needs and it will take care of the rest....

Ortho Weed and Clover or Scotts Weed B Gone are products consumers can buy that work relatively well. If you use a granular be sure and put it on when the leaves are wet or you won't get much to stick on the leaves.
