Any idea as to when the sign-up deadline is? or the date of when the jigs need to be mailed out? Just curious so that we can plan things out accordingly. Thanks.

Sign up will close on 3/1/09. Jigs need to mailed to swapmaster by 3/15 so that I can get them back out and to everyone by 3/20.

Mail to: Larry Junell
2870 Waters Edge
Quinlan, Texas 75474

As we did before mail to swapmaster in some sort of container with prepaid postage envolope addressed and when i get them sorted they will be sent right back.

If anyone needs further instructions on how to handle the swap, see Jig 1 post or just PM me and I'll get all worked out.

Lets go fishin

Many places I could list to buy supplies, but for now since everyone knows about it...Bass Pro has tying supplies, even a kit for beginning tiers. I will warn you... it's habit forming and when you get into tying then go to the supply dept you want everything there. clap

There are some good videos on youtube that can show you how to get started. Here's a link that might work and will have some others in the list to watch also. Let me know if the link does not work.

Hey Tyers, just wanted to give a couple reminders and suggestions for the swaps.

The canisters that were mentioned in the original guidelines are ok,but I believe the small 2x3 zip lock bags are better for the tier and swapmiester.Enclose all your individually packed jigs in a larger zip lock to send to the SM.

If possible, try to send in a bubble envelope, the 6x9 size is perfect, and will save you some on postage. They should run between $1.51 and $1.68 to mail.I noticed on some of the swap #1 packages the 8x11 packages had between 4 -5 dollars on postage.

Last and most important, please remember a self addressed and POSTAGE paid envelope so the SM can mail them back to you.It is better to use stamps rather than the postal meter on your return envelope..

Looking forward to Swap # 2 !!!!!

Yeah that 5 dollar postage stinks.

I'll be happy to join. Have tied flies for years and a jig is just a fly with a lead head, sort of like a clouser minnow, but different. Where can I find a copy of the rules??

After they have been tied and then used for fishing, we should report back as to which ones caught fish the best.
