The best way to avoid line twist is to have it put on by machine. Take your spool and line to your favorite sporting goods store. Ask them to fill the spool. Even if they charge you , it's worth it. ( if you have spent some $$ in the store , they should do it free )

I have a helper ( the wife ) hold the new line spool face to face with the reel spool with the line coming off the new spool in the same direction as the line is being wound onto the reel spool. I have never had any problems using this procedure. Simple and effective. J.B.

I have never understood the need to fill the whole reel with flouro. IMO, it is too stiff and has always caused problems for me. I only use it as a leader with braid. All of the tips mentioned above will help with line twist on spinning reels, especially the mentions of closing the bail by hand. Until I learned this, I was always having problems with loops coming off the spool.
If you do get a birdsnest, one way to clear it is to keep the bail closed, loosen the drag, then pull line until you get to the source of the tangle, then reel the line back onto the spool, under finger pressure. Most of the time this will work.

The single most important thing to prevent twist is to be sure the line comes off the spool counter-clockwise with slight pressure (fingers) before it hits the reel spool.
No flourocarbon for me...no way, no how.
