I have a friend that owns PolyFab Plastics which also is the Pro Control company. Most know them from the recessed trolling motor trays that they make. I have had one in my last 3 boats and will not own a boat without a recess tray. He has developed a new product built to protect trolling motor mounted transducers. He has models available to pair with any brand transducer on the market. Its pretty slick. Basically just fits on lower unit and completely covers the transducer but has oblong hole in bottom to allow it to read/pick up depth etc. The kit comes complete with the clamps. Total installation time is about five minutes. Quick and easy. The kit costs less than half the cost of a new transducer. I installed this one on my MK 101 TM and no issues with it all. Check out http://www.polyfabplastics.com/ for more info. He also is running a special if you buy both a tray and a protector. The Fun N Sun store in Hurst will have both products in stock in the next two weeks as well. Here are some pictures:

Isn't your transducer in an incorrect angle or is that how it works best for you? I really like the protector. I'm going to be getting one.

I need to move it and position it correctly. It is out of whack a bit. I actually broke it off and used WaterWeld to fix it before i installed the protector. Thats another reason why I grabbed the protector.

Seems like it was less than $40.00 shipped. Call or email Mark Miller via the site and he can get you an exact price. I may be wrong on the amount.

Yes I really think so. No issue with mine at all. You know how shallow I fish as well.

If the JB weld fix I made to my last broken transducer ever fails (going on 3 years old now) then I think I'll get me one of these smile
