Thanks for all the advice. I think I have a pretty good idea of what I am going to need. Now just got to see what's on sale for the weekend.

I love my Skelton Castaways I have them from 7'6 heavy and Extra Heavy I have one Med rod for my spinner baits the rest are Heavy and at least 7' I am fishing the south division in Bass Champs so I need some big sticks for the big bass lakes in that Division.... Skelton Series are awesome and there ultra light but have great backbone and sentivity....

You need to take your height into consideration as well. Many anglers don't do that and wonder why rods feel weird or uncomfortable to them. If you are shorter, you don't need much bigger than a 6'9" rod. Where if you are taller, you might want to look at 6'9" rods and longer.

Then you must use a polevault stick with a saddle on it!

All my bait casting rods are Allstar. They are all the same 6'10" except for my spinnerbait rod and it is 6'8". All of them are the same because I like the feel (all my reels are the same also) I have 4 different spinning rods-one for drop shot 7' and the others are 6'6". I use those for shakey, sinko ect. Tried a 7' for that and did not like-just didn't feel right.

Well i bought some rods and reels. I didnt have time to get to BPS or Cabelas so hit up Academy. I went with the idea in mind i would buy some AllStar Platinum rods but they didnt have a very good selection and i need some gear for this coming weekend so looked at Falcons. I ended up buying Falcon Lowriders. I bought these combos
7'0" H / Abu Garcia STX 6'8" MH / Abu Garcia STX 6'6" M / Abu Garcia STX
Thats about all the money i could put out for one day. From the post i have seen this should get me started.

I think you will be very satisfied with those setups. All my baitcaster setups use Falcon Lowriders. I have been very pleased.

I plan to add a 7'0" MH after my next outing and one spinning setup, but have to keep the misses happy so i kept it light for now.
