Good morning all,
This is what I have been looking for...have not been in a tourney in 30 years...good way to get my feet wet again...and with my son (who will be 11). He is the most HARDCORE fisherman I have ever met. This will be his first "boat" tourney although he placed 2nd in the "Mississippi Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo" freshwater-youth division a few years ago. Believe it or not, he has a couple of 7+ pound mounts already. He has not stopped talking about this tourney since I mentioned it earlier last week. We look forward to meeting some new "fishheads" and learning what we can together.
We will be the newbies fishin' from "Playin' Hookie" Now that's what I'm talkin bout ! Will has a Proud Dad for sure and see ya'll there

I went to Waxahachie for my first time today to pre-fish for next Saturday. It was cold out there. Smaller that I expected, ramps were fine. Only fished 3 hrs and caught 7, I thought it was a good day considering my first time there and after the cold front. Dang, did I say it was cold! That wind was cutting right through us. Good luck to everyone next saturday. It will be mine and my son's first tournament together.

We will be fishing Lake Waxahachie Sat Feb 21st from 8am-2:30pm, weigh-in will end at 3pm

I drove out to the lake today.  Man the lake is LOW. The ramp closest to the dam is horrible. There were a few boats there and I watched for about 30 minutes watching one try and get on the trailer. Guy with a rope tied to the bow standing on the trailer trying to help pull it on. I got there later than I wanted to, there may have been a tourney out there because several lined up, by the ramp. The ramp at the other end looks better than the one by the dam. At least one hump is an island and lots of marker buoys that were not there before. I know one guy bent his TM shaft pretty bad. Anyone that does not know the lake watch the stumps in front of the middle park on the south side and watch the stumps midway on the north side. There is one hump I could not see out of the water but you might be able to see it from the water, it's the one just out from the ramp closest to the dam if you take off and go south across the lake. That one is usually just a few feet down when the water is up so it's probably just a 1' under or little more if any. So.... watch it.
