Mason, yes and a state record to boot....GSF record = 1.3 pounds and 11 inches....yours was probably 1.5 pounds or more.

That was a heck of a GSF....well done!!

My biggest was about 12.5-13 inches caught in a little public pond. Caught 9 of them that size total over a two summer period. Amazing.

11.25" redear from the San Marcos
11" bluegill from, um, well, um, Colorado. Seriously.
Not a sunfish, but caught a cichlid around 14-15" near Wimberley once.
15" crappie from Ray Bob
10" redbreast from the SM

Here's my PB, that i caught on the Brazos River. It was huge, for that body of water. I also attached a pic of some of the nice red breast sunfish that haunt the river, too.

That is truely amazing...I'd be willing to bet that pond was full of 1-2 pound or so LMB, also.

Geeez would I ever love to get hold of those genetics. shocked

If we're talking in the "Perch" Category, one would have to be this 13+ inch Rio Grande Perch or Texas Cichlid caught in Brackettville, Texas:

He weighed in at 2 pounds 9 ounces. Now living happilly in my living room in my 110 Gal Aquarium. I've caught several out of this particular creek weighing in over 2 pounds and a couple at or near three pounds. I've also caught several redear in the 1-2 pound range. The Cichlids can be awful colorful:
