We have developed a problem with rats. They have been hanging out in the garage but are starting to come into the kitchen at night.
What is the best way to combat this problem? Does that DeCon stuff work good?

Go to your local TSC or Feed Store and get a package of Just One Bite...It comes in bar form...You don't even have to open the package, but if you do decide to do that and break up the bars, wear gloves...If you have pets, keep it and the dead rats away from them...
I leave it in all of our garages and not one problem...It works great...

I went to Well's Brothers Farm Store in Plano and was looking at rat traps and this cute high school girl working there told me "I can sell you one of those but it won't work they are too smart". Then she showed me the Just One Bite stuff.. It doesn't do its magic until they water up. Which usually means they are outside when they croak.

Glue Dog food to a Large Rat Trap. Worked for us years ago.

As mentioned, be careful with 'One Bite', as it will kill any pet after consumption!
'One Bite' does work good nonetheless.

Dead rats can stink up a house if you can't find them.
Bait rat traps or glue traps in spots your pets can't get to.
What a maroon!

in spots your pets can't get to. I don't like the idea of a rat eating anything, then crawling away and dying somewhere. Kill the rat instantly, and you will know where to find it.

Dont want the dogs to chew on a poisoned rat out in the yard. Gotta do something quick though. Dogs woke us up at 4am barking at a rat. I found where they are coming in at. I patched the hole but need to kill em all off!

Rat traps. Half of a pecan (shelled, of course) shoved onto the catch, with a little bit of peanut butter on top.

If'n you have pets and kids you can leave out some Mr Pibb of Coca Cola in a saucer. They can't burp and it ruptures their insides. I've never tried it but I've heard it from enough old timers that I believe it.

Nascarchuck, Them going outside to drink and die is about as likely as Obama resigning...Also, secondary poisoning will not occur with anything purchased legally over the counter. If you want to get past the wives tales and get to the facts about rodent trapping, removal, and exclusion give me a call. 214-986-1626.
Use snap traps, bait but dont set three times. After they eat the peanut butter the third time, rebait and set the spring. Go back in the morning and remove bodies.

Rats are pretty smart. I guess by the 4th time, they are more comfortable and go right after the bait. Then you have a better chance of getting the sucker.

Not wanting to spread any more wives tales especically in the middle of a commercial....so are you saying that they can live the entire winter in my garage without water? I find them outside all the time at room temp...
