What is the biggest BG/Sunfish you've ever caught??? Put in some pics, or just tell us. If you don't think you've caught a very big one, go fishing. Don't worry, just tell your wife/boss that I told you to. thumb

My best..over 13 inches and 2.5 to 3 pounds, unfortunately no picture.

I don't normally measure BG weight but do carefully measure length. In terms of length, #2 pb = just over 11.5 inches and estimated weight 1.5 to 2 pounds shown immediately below:

In terms of weight, I think this fatty would have to be high on my list:

nice fish, I fished a pond stocked with CN Bluegill and caught a couple that hit the 11 inch mark, kinda like trying to pull a dinner p[late thru the water while it fights.

That is one monster Rio....according to TP&W..."The Texas state record was caught in the South Llano River in 2001 and weighed 1.59 pounds."

Meadowlark,

I looked at your website, what is it for? Do you sell fish, or is it just for fun and research? Also, I have a new pond and it is roughly 2/3 acre. Do you have any recommendations for me on what I should stock, I would like to grow big LMB.

Stratos,

I sell nothing, absolutely no money involved except out of my own pocket (ouch!!). My reasons for the site:

1) It's a place for family and friends to be able to follow my journey.
2) It helps answer the steady stream of inquires that I receive about ponds. I enjoy answering those inquires and discussing ponds with folks. Rather than just tell stories, I prefer to show documented facts as related to my own experiences.
3) I tend to forget...how big they were, when I caught them, what works and doesn't works...so I document it. I guess you could call it a pond blog.

Nothing commercial, not about personal gain. I hope you enjoyed the site and will return often.
