Thanks Fatcat for the info. Like I said I'm new to crappie fishing and will try LBJ again after these next few cold fronts pass.
Good fishing to you.

If your fishing on lbj the cold fronts are not such a bad thing the lake has a power plant and when the colder it is the less trafic there is if you have a fish finder there is alot of brush around the power plant to fish

I crappie fish LBJ primarily in the spring and summer, with mixed results. I can definately share some spots during the spawn. I have never tried the plant...do you fish around the discharge with minnows? I was told that the catfishing is good around the plant as well.

My buddy and I fished both bridges this past weekend with very few crappie caught. Did manage several nice LMB...one over 7 lbs. Tried the underwater lights, and just about every pillar there was, but just couldn't catch any slabs except two or three keepers. Not one white. I live in Sunrise Beach, can one of you fellas tell me how to get to the power plant and if there is a park or area close to it where we can launch a bass buggy? Any help appreiciated!

To get to the plant, go to horseshoe bay and turn right at the 7-11. it will take you right to the plant. turn right and follow the dirt road beside the plant. it will take you down to the water where you could launch a small jon boat, etc.

good, i am putting together some condos for Lake Marble Falls. they have lowered the lake 9ft until mid feb. once it is raised, the condos will drop! we have a hole where we caught over 200 slabs last march and hope to give the "fins" some more cover.

they are letting dock owners rebuild their docks and or repair them. also some dredgework is being done. allows me to see what kind of structure/or lack there of...is in the lake.

yes on Marble Falls. I hope they dont lower LBJ. seems like everytime they do, it throws off the spawn.
