I got a buddy at work that has a lot down at Lake Whitney where he keeps his boat. He showed me some pictures of the lake that he had taken on his phone. He had been telling me that we needed rain bad to fill up the lake but i hadnt been out to see the lake. The pics were crazy. The lake is 11 ft below level. The dock by the ramp is sitting on the ground and there is a small puddle at the end of the boat ramp. Then after the puddle at the end of the boat ramp, there is another couple of feet before the water line starts. I know that lake Whitney is not a constant level lake like Granbury, or possum kingdom but are any of you seeing low water levels in your Lakes?

I know its unreal. Im going to have to drive down there just to see it myself. He said that he thought all the ramps were closed. He doesnt fish during the winter but he said all the ramps he uses are im possible unload your boat down. The pic he had of the floating curtisy dock looked the weirdest. The end part of the dock you would pull your boat up to was sitting on the ground and the other sections of the walkout part of the dock when upward at a 45 degree angle to reach the point where they were attached to original shoreline. Two summers ago you could not launch your boat in Lake whitney because of the record 27in of rain we recieved. You could not see the ramp for all the water. Now we have had no rain and you cant launch the boat due to no water at ramp.

We are in the same boat up here in the Panhandle. Lakes Greenbelt, Meredith, McKensie, Baylor, and Conchas are all at petiful water levels right now.

Lake Granger and Georgetown and the same. Docks are all out of water only 1 ramp that is safely usable these days on Granger.

tawakoni is almost 5 feet low

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

That is nothing our lakes in the panhandle are worse. Lake greenbelt is 29ft low, Lake meredith is 73ft low,and lake mackenzie is 76ft low. I would love to see a lake around here only 11ft low!!

Yeah it's low alright....McCown and Cedar Creek however, should be able to launch most boats...I won't take my pontoon out because it's 24 feet long and a pain to launch with the water so low...We haven't been able to launch either of our boats (deep v-hull ski boat and the pontoon boat) at Lakeside Village, since late July or early August (I forget which)...

I have a house in Lakeside and when the water was so high, we darn near had lake front property...eeks

I actually dont live there in whitney. I live in joshua about 45 minutes north of there. Yeah lakeside is the ramp that is closest to his lot and im sure thats the one he took the pic of. I bet people wishing that Granbury would open the gates and let some water come down the Brazos to fill the lake up at least a little bit. Excluding the flood we had two summers ago, is it usually this low this time of year?

Whitney goes down every year around this time because of the hydro-electric dam generating electricity...In March the rains refill the lake...

All of the area lakes are in need of rain of which I'm sure we will get "Bombarded" with in the springtime knowing this Texas weather. The fish need more space to roam! grin

Conchas low? I grew up fishing that lake was & still is my favorite, but have not been there in 35 years also fished Ute before they raised the dam. Have they been irrigating out of Conchas?

White River lake came up about 12' due to the september flood but it is still 28.8" low. 2 ramps are usable, have been able to launch the pontoon there.

A bad day on the lake is much better than a good day at work!
