Glad you had a good field test with the new gear. I hope they had unpainted jig heads.

I just had someone do some shopping in my garage!! Just up and walked out with my pool cues. 2 of em worth about $500. Plus all the other stuff that was in the case. They musta been in a hurry, they left my tools and all my freshwater Rods-N-Reels. Just wish I could catch em Just Once!!

Guys and gals,
I sympathize with the loss of property, but lets face it; there are plenty worse things to happen and plenty of worse low lives out there.
No offence meant, but ever heard of child porn? Murder? Rape?
When one of you or yours gets assaulted it puts a different perspective on the value of property. It can (as luvfldx has demostrated) be replaced.
My 2 cents.

I hate to see post like this one; people still your stuff so they can pawn it off for little to nothing. But as our economy continues to falter, one can only suspect that these types of situation will be on a rise.

Since most fishing gear does not have a serial number listed on them your chances of ever getting this kind of stuff back are slim to none. So what I have done is use an ingraver to apply identifiable numbers on the bottom of my reels where they attach to the rod. Take pictures of these so you will have some sort of records showing that these reels are yours. Once you have filed a police report and given them a copy of your missing items with these numbers on it, you then stand a much better chance of recovering your items. We all know that there will be no law officers going around to pawn shops looking for our stuff, but we can.

In about 30 days, your stolen stuff should make it out on the floor or shelf to be sold. If you should run across something that belongs to you at a pawn shop, dont say a word to the people inside the shop, go on outside and contact the police so they can help you retrieve your stuff back. Also when ever you get ready to go look for your stuff, be sure to bring along a copy of your previous police report. That way when the police arrive to help you recover your stuff, you can put your finger on these items that belong to you with the paper work that shows proof that these belong to you, and you should get your stuff back. I know this is a long shot, but its about the only way you can show proof that an item like a reel is yours. With out this documentation , it can turn into a ( he said, she said situation) and you probably will not get your stuff back even if you had it in your hands. Bottom line is, you have to show proof that this stuff is yours.

Sorry to hear that Rudy,,,I loaded up the night befor ,,(stupid thing to do),ended up minus my spinning outfit. It wasn't the rod&reel gone that really bothered me,it was just the only thing I got outta a 7 yr (bad) relationship with my last g/f.Still,I'd like to catch someone with their paws on my stuff,,my ol' dog would really enjoy the chance to "put the fang" on 'em.
