My brother in law just got laid off as a service manager at a Chevrolet dealer in California. Not sure how big that operation was, but things are definitely tough for some of these folks.

Monte----Just out of curiosity with the 9/25 for TEXAS dealerships,in your opinion, why was Landmark out of Houston, unable to survive? They always advertised top Chevy sales in Texas, was that just misleading advertising on their part covering up a much bigger problem?

If only T-man would convince all of his Southlake neighbors to buy a Chevy (for their hired help of course) it could bump Monte up into the #1 slot.

I hate to speculate on their problems because I don't really know what happened. I do know that at one time they were a big name in Texas Chevrolet sales. It's been a long time since they were #1 but they were definitely close to the top. Classic is a great dealership their location makes them tough to beat T-Man send em our way.

I don't remember exactly when, but the Quitman Chevy dealership went belly up in the last year or so.
I've always had a hard time understanding how more than one dealership in a county could survive in East Texas. Houston, Dallas, etc. I can understand, but having a dealership in Quitman, Mineola, plus, Gladewater, Winnsboro and so forth, I'm just at a loss to understand how that many could survive in areas of such low population densities.

TFP - you won't see many older/antique vehicles sitting out in the fields when driving the backroads in those areas - that's because people are still driving them.

Where did James Wood's dealership rank?
He's got a couple of monster Chevy auto parks.
