I was down there last Monday & Tuesday. Skittish is a fair assessment. Managed one 24" Red off the edge of a flat in Port Bay.

That picture was the same day I was in the area. Haven't seen them like that since, but some of my contacts have been seeing and catching tailing reds in other areas so that time of the year is finally here.

Freeport and San Bernard River is very muddy colored water right now,go a little further down south or west.We were there last weekend,the water is {San Bernard} like chocalate milk right now.But Ill be going back.
