way to go. i do not hesitate to turn people in. all you have to do is take down good info and give it to the warden. they will take care of it. the more people that get involved the less [censored] like this can happen. thanks for doing your part.

REDNECK, and proud of it.

Great job!

I kind of expected them to be arrested for these crimes. Seems to me, running around with shotguns, killing indiscriminately should merit at least an overnight stay in jail.

Will they have to show up in court or just pay the fines?

Very sad that sickos are out there running loose. I wonder what other crimes they may have committed and unfortunately got away with.

In any case, great job! Thanks.

Dude, you get the 2008 wildlife good samaritian award in my book!
Way to go, I would of had a hard time just smirking back at that punk kid. Grabbing that punk and shoving the dead bird with the biggest sharpest looking beak where the sun don't shine would have been very tempting!
Seems to me that shooting a federally protected bird should result in a arrest though, not a ticket.

Great job!
The only things I would like to know is if they can't pay the fines, and I sure hope the grandparents don't, what will happen? This is a Federal Offense, right? There just has to be some jail time.
And I wish you had posted pics of these A-holes.

Thanks for turning them in. That's a shame that they are just out there killing birds for no reason. Glad the game warden came out there and taught them a lesson. thumb

I'm not sure if they have to go before a judge or not. When I learned one of the guys was on parole, I thought for sure he would have to spend a night in jail or something more punitive... but Warden Cotton said unfortunately the only thing he can do is issue citations.

My mom was pretty distraught over the grey herron. My dad and her worked very hard for decades to build this house overlooking the creek they love and they spend hours a day just watching the wildlife outside. The grey herron was a regular in the area.

I'm just very glad there were no bald eagles out. We have a nesting group in the area and they hunt from the air and dive into the creek right outside too. They sometimes perch in the trees next to this sandbar to eat their catch.

We all should take note and do as this guy. Get the Tag #'s and call the law. Don't approach poachers. If they're willing to take game illegally I'd be they'd bust a cap in you too. Great Job as mentioned before. May you have a Merry Christmas and I hope you get a ton of fish on those juglines.

Good job. I keep all the local wardens on speed dial in my cell.
Don't mean to bust the bubble but the fines will probably be haggled on and lowered, at least locally. They also aren't near as steep as you think or would wish. The positive is that in addition to the local(TPW) fines, there is also a very high chance that they will be receiving another set of tickets from the feds plus restitution and restocking fees on the pelicans and the coots.
