I was out most of the day yesterday and got 5 hybrids. Can't quite tell you where they were, but near as I could tell, they were about 100 -300 yds. off Chimney Creek point, in 38ft of water, suspended at 10-20.

Fog was so thick you could not see 20ft in front of you. I left while the leaving was good beause it was a long way back to Ledbetter. A big hug for the guy that invented the GPS. I wasn't smart enough to way point the fish and once I got off them I couldn't find them.

I bought my first GPS for sole purpose of running in fog.
One morning (pre=gps) I left my dock headed for the spillway.
I ended up at the horsefarm. smile

I have not tried putting a waypoint on schools of fish,
I think it would be like a cell phone signal , sure to
put off a bite.

Next year I think I will invest in some critter cams and
gps locators for seagulls. smile I'm pretty sure it is illegal to attach a location device to fish, but I think it will be ok
on the birds.

Good luck
Mo

Heading out today. I didn't find them yesterday, but caught a mess of crappie on the bottom in the middle of 155 big bridge. Where are the Wipers? I will report when I get in. STEVE T

Bad news, but uncertain for sure. I headed out of 344, and went past Eagle's bluff and up to Stone Chimney area, and about there, I hear a tick from the engine. I let off, and nothing seemed wrong. I went back up to 50, and every 15-30 seconds, a single tick sound. I shut down after 3 times and pulled the cowling. couldn't hear anything at idle or speed, as it would not do it in the short time I ran without the cowl. I put it back on and it did it again. I called Larry at E Tx marine, and he said limp back at idle if I was worried, to prevent a cratering of the engine or Lower unit. I did, and will not be able to fish in my boat til after the 1st due to the boat shop being closed. I hope it isn't the Lower unit. I feel sick at the prospect. See Y'all when I see Y'all. Steve out.

You are more than welcome fish with me. I should be out there everyday for the next two weeks when the wind is ok.

Thanks Trump, I know I will need to get out some, and that would be a welcomed seat you are offering. I am working Sunday thru Christmas eve, and at the family gathering Christmas day. I will be hunting Saturday, but the next week will be some time after I get home about 3 in the evenings. I will get in touch with you later. Thanks, STEVE T

Hey guys I'm going to be on Palestine for week starting Friday. I know the hybrids have been hit and miss lately, but what about the whites. I would not mind finding the whites. Is the area from the horsefarm to the dam still the best places to look right now?

5:20 pm - east of Smith Point - 50 yards from shore - under birds. I was on my way in from where I thought they would be and they popped up here after watching the birds for ten minutes.

Sounds like you got there just in time for the sun to go down. I may be able to go sometime this week, I'll let you know. Later

What is the verdict on your boat? Lower end or up top?
