flag Iwas wondering if anyone was familar with fishing on these jetties. What size hooks, weights and bait to use.Iwas there may 24 and was using double hook leaders with 3 0z sinker and 4-5 size hook using live shrimp.I was casting away from the rocks into the surf side but was constantly loosing leaders about 6 of them.I guess I should have been using a 5-6 oz. weight due to the current bringing the line back into the rocks.no one seemed to be catching much that day I guess it was too windy.Does anyone have a suggestion what time of day is best fishing there and any type of artifical bait to use there? Any suggestions willbe greathy appreciated.Johnny44

I fish there pretty often and use live shrimp under a poping cork fished about 2ft down. If im fishing the bottom i will use a samll spider weight to keep it from moving, and most of the time I use live or dead mullet. The best times seem to be right before the sun comes up till about 9:30 or so, the evenings are pretty good to. If the surf is nasty fish the channel side.

spider weights help a lot with current. Jus let it settle down and literally hang itself up so the current doesn't drag it anywhere. Let the bait jus sit and when something bites, it'll usually dislodge the weight

from the intersection of south padre island dr. and hwy 361 in Corpus Christi, you can get to the packery channel jetties. The jetties do not show on this google image. but they are where the blue x is.

Shut up and fish!
