First off, dont apologize for the delay!! You had a crazy weekend and probably didnt even need to have it done this early.

Thanks alot guys. It was an interesting day. I dont usually scream WOOOOO after catching a fish... it was just a really tough day until then. In hindsight, I probably moved around too much and didnt give enough presentations to spots where I KNEW I would find fish. Crankbaits are my strength, so I through them a bunch. I thought I would get reaction bites from them. I didnt even attempt downsizing till I worked the docks. When I pulled up to the docks, Casey said "We are in 35 feet of water". Im pretty sure my mouth dropped open. Theres nothing close to a dock in 35 feet of water in lakes Ive fished. Needless to say, I needed to adjust what I was doing and not try to fish like I was at home. I decided to do something that was actually intelligent. Find the food = find the bass. I have printed off a navionics map from my computer and say the drop off near the flat. We idled over it for a solid 10 minutes finding what I thought were key points in the area. Eventually, the water warmed up and fish moved shallow. It was fun catching the big fish. I knew it was big the second she took the trap. Casey did a GREAT job with the net and the camera at the same time. I didn't have confidence to lip her with the Owner Hooks sticking out of her mouth so I needed that. After that I gained alot of confidence and went searching. It paid of a small bit and I would have had a limit with 2 overs if it wasn't for my BONEHEADDDDDDDDDD move at the end. All in all, I plan to visit grapevine again next weekend and really had a good time. Thanks to Casey for having faith in me to do this, thanks to the TFF for hosting it, thanks to all the great sponsors that help put it on. Unfortunately, my record wont stand long because Mr. Pack has his DOW at Fork next month, but itll be fun while I have it. Thanks guys.

-Thomas

Awesome Thomas, you are on a big fish roll! Glad to see you get the record.

I was pond hopping Sunday and it was tough. Glad to see you found some fish and especially the good one.

Nice write-up Casey, you should get an plaque or an award for your coverage. laugh

Grapevine can really reward you if you stick with it like that. Great job.
